    50cc China front wheel/brake confusion...

Hey guys, recently picked up another non-running China bike, mainly as something to teach my stepdaughter on, also something to work on/tinker with. Ad looked ok, thought it'd be a decent deal, when I showed up I noticed the front brake was missing and the front wheel was sitting off-center in...

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

Yeah man, it felt great to ride it again after working on it for so long. Only thing is now I don't want to get it dirty =P. The resto is finally completely finished. Cleaned and shined the tires, made sure everything was as presentable as possible, then had my sister (family photographer)...

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

Welp, got the bike all back together and ride-able again. Last Saturday night I got the exhaust, wiring, and all of the controls (throttle, front brake, clutch lever) installed: The very next day the tank, seat, and plastics were all on (minus the front fender and number plate), and the...

    SSR 125 - Parts?

Honestly man, the only place I have ever personally purchased parts for any china bike is Ebay. I always just make sure to compare with what is on the bike already, and then go from there. Count the links in the chain that came off the bike, and make sure you get one that has the same.

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

Got the wheels cleaned and installed, today. A portion of the rust ring that went all the way around both sides of both rims: After some WD40 and ScotchBrite: Looks a bit like a bike, now: Still gotta clean and shine the tires, but after that it's just wiring and accessories.

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

Alright, I finally got some more stuff done on the Roketa. I got really sick late in December, and work on the bike had stalled for quite a bit, but seeing the parts just laying around in the garage motivated me back to it. I decided to sand the engine case to help remove as much of the stained...

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

Alright, a few more updates. Got the frame, swing arm, and handlebars stripped, cleaned, and primed. Unfortunately I got ahead of myself and forgot to take before pics of the frame and bars (they were terrible, about half of the paint already chipped off/rusted through), but hopefully these will...

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

So I got started stripping paint a week ago or so. I started with the swing arm as the paint on it was the worst shape out of every other area of the bike, and it was so thick I was worried I'd have trouble getting it all off. I used "Aircraft" paint stripper that I picked up from my local...

    Budget Bike: Roketa Resurrection

I know it's been forever, but I finally decided to tear down the Roketa and give it a bit more of a restoration: When I got down to the steering, the bearings (unsurprisingly) fell apart completely. It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like they might be PW50 style bearings? If anyone...

    Suzuki DS80 running rich

As far as checking the float level, it should always be checked from the gasket surface to the top of the float (with carb upside-down, bottom of the float if you're looking at it normal). I would make sure that it is set to whatever spec the service manual says, as just guessing could be what's...

    Can't get spark.

If the kit comes with everything, wiring included, then I don't think it will matter that the stator is different. Most of these things are very generic and usually fit most chinese made pit bikes. It seems that yours is actually missing one of the coil windings. I'm not sure if it's just...

    1999 Suzuki RM125

Yeah man, that is exactly what I was thinking =]. Thanks man. I wet sanded them with the finest sandpaper I could get from my local hardware store (400 grit). Cleaned up really nice, but naturally left a very flat finish, so I'm going to hit them with a heat gun later this week to see if...
