shift drum bolt, that's the one. followed the print out I have of gearing assembly to the key so haven't altered any dimensions. should having gearing dropped to neutral allow full continuous movement through motor?

carby runs mint. so I got the engine together and back on the bike, but I was a little concerned with the kickstart spring mechanism. eg coil with a catch at either end, engages the notches on the adjacent pinion and with the added tension from spring, helps to turn shaft with less effort...

that could make my day mate, keep me posted. Im confident I had removed all the debris+ ball bearings, it had also damaged thee washer so im going to replace that also.

The good news is I got my bike back, new valve clearances of 0.006/0.008 and had some work done on the magneto. runs mint. Went out for another ride this morning and found my kick start was stuffed... no ride today. Lifan 160cc Got home and pulled it apart. Shaft and pinions are all in tact...

feels like it has compression, no tech test done. been rotating 2 plugs. Friday arvo wanting my bike for the weekend, bike shop update. they adjusted valves out a touch, found magneto has slipped. they also said Motorbikecity (ferntree gully) bike shop changing out original analog stator setup...

I had played with the setup on the previous carb for it to run perfect... until I came across this problem. Swapping out to this carb that was running perfect on his I think they were 125 + 170, from memory. at which point some fine tuning would be done. yet I find the exact problem with this...
