    yeah i did that on my old bike, i thought it was a flat tire at first. I was half way round a very long loop track and had to hold the bolt in with my heel the rest of the way back.

    ok i took it all apart, cleaned everything thoroughly, put it all back together and re bled with fresh dot 4 fluid and i've got the same problem, not as bad but its still there. I'm out of ideas. How much would it cost for a new master cylinder and caliper roughly?

    when i release the brake pedal the back wheel is very hard to spin. I'm pretty sure I bled them correctly as i've done it before. How much fluid should there be? After it jammed i left it for about 5 minutes and then it was fine again so it must be releasing very slowly.

    You might be on the right track. You can buy gasket paper and try cutting that to suit, if you do it neat enough it might just work. I think you can get it at repco or some place like that.
