    Exciter coil.

Ah they are alternating direction, I hooked up a battery to the coil and checked with a compass, sweet I guess all that's left now is to grab the wire/resin and get to work :D

    Exciter coil.

yeah I'm planning on rewinding it myself. This is a pic of the spare stator for the ct90 which I've stripped the windings off and the stator from my pit bike which I'm intending on copying, both are 6 pole I assume I can't see any reason I can't just copy and then use the chinese CDI/regulator...

    Exciter coil.

I'll get a pic up in a bit, but not as easy as buying a new one. The postie bike is an old 6V from '72 with points ignition and a inner rotor, it's got a 6 pole stator same as my pit bike. I'm planning on rewinding it with 1 pole as the exciter and 5 for the charging (again same as the pit...

    Exciter coil.

Hey everyone, I was wondering does anyone know what gauge of wire/how many turns are in the exciter coil in a Chinese pit bike? I've got an old postie bike that I'm planning on converting to CDI ignition and I want to copy the pit bikes so that I can use the cheap CDI, coil, regulator etc. I...

    Ooops - disaster narrowly avoided!

Hey everyone, I was taking the bike for a test spin around the yard, and suddenly the throttle stuck open and it started making a really weird sound. No major problem I was only in 1st gear so i turned it off and pulled the carb. I don't have an air filter at the moment so I had been using a...

    VIC Riding Spots

I'm in a similar boat to you, except I've been riding on road for years but never been on dirt, just started getting into pittys. I went to Broardmeadows $30 or $45 bucks for the day depending on CCs (I think it's 150 cut off) it was literally my first time riding off road, I looked like a bit...

    50cc "race" engine

Throat size is 26mm, funny that's the picture that I saw which made me realize my mistake, yeah I haven't checked the float level yet (with it in the correct position, i did check it before lol). I don't have a .9mm drill bit which is why I was going for the #100 to start with, I've got 4 jets...

Wow so it's been a long time since I've posted on here, I haven't had much of a chance to do anything to the bike for a while but I recently actually took it to the track for the first time. I've only got a small yard at home so I'd been riding it around a little and it was working just fine...

not sure what you're talking about here lol! :/ anyway the pin is 16mm x 3mm and it has a flat on the side which goes from the end approx halfway down. it was actually inside the big outer clutch cover. I'm fairly certain it's not the pin for the clutch arm as that has no lateral play that I...

Yeah I thought that it might have been that pin in the clutch lever but it looks like it's got a knob on the end. I was more thinking that it was one of those number 13 pins on the gear pic. I will double check the clutch pin when I get home. I have started it and it seemed to run alright so meh...

hmmm so i thought i'd give the bike an oil change today before i actually take it to the track. dumped the old out and i took off the clutch cover to clean the screen (which was totally clear btw) just for peace of mind. anyway while i was cleaning out the clutch cover case this fell out...

    Help with new bike

If you haven't got the air filter yet but want to play around with the engine running what you can do is get a clean lint free rag fold it once or twice and then zip-tie or tape it to the carb. it's certainly not a replacement for an actual air filter but it will stop some of the larger rocks...

My road registered 140cc Assassin / Shineray build

Not sure what state you're in so it might be different but got this off the vicroads website Change of engine - scenario 3 The replacement engine is not of a type and/or make offered by the vehicle manufacturer as an option for that vehicle, but is equivalent in general configuration, power...

My road registered 140cc Assassin / Shineray build

won't you have to get an engineers certificate because the engine isn't one that was originally offered by the manufacturer for that particular frame? if you want to road reg the bike that is...

Hoorah so I've finally got this bike ready to take to the track. The CDI burnt out so I ordered a new el-cheapo one off the net put it back on and she fired up perfectly. I made a little mount for the carb, just a piece of metal that screws into it and the engine just so it doesn't shake out...
