this happend on my old bike, i took the plastics off and the cable had popped out of the groove in the tank i just popped it back in, it was fine,check the cable on the tank

That bike is one of the the best thumpstar i have seen!! its awesome,looks like it's never been used at all, have fun!! By the way, very nice forks aswell!
