150 Postie build, now on the road!!

Postie is still under cover but i plan to get it out and back on the road next month as the weather warms up. I've still got alot of shiny stuff to fit from the initial build, maybe i'll spend a few days getting that gear mocked and fitted. Can't help you there. DRATV was the only one i could...

150 Postie build, now on the road!!

G'day, I was running an OKO previously but am in the midst of a change just to be different. OKO's are still my carb of choice although i prefer not to run with an 1/8th turn due to wanting more throttle control for road use. I've been asked pretty often about this and would love to build...

150 Postie build, now on the road!!

Nah nothing to update on. Have been extremely busy building and designing conversion looms for LS1's and 304's (inj 5.0). Along with a mad rush to get a mates 4x4 ready for this weekend. My 4x4 has made a little progress but the post is gathering dust with a box of parts next to it waiting to be...

150 Postie build, now on the road!!

Hey bud, no updates at the moment. I have a pretty big selection of parts to be fitted. I have been concentrating on building my custom suspension (Ground up) for my 4x4 that was put off during the initial build of the Postie. I'll get back to the Postie probably once the 4x4 is back to a...

    what is this part/thing

There is no colour coding on a "blue point" connector. "Blue point" refers to the original manufacturer, not the colour. Just like a "Crescent wrench" or "Stilson", etc... Different manufacturers have a slightly different colour plastic, ranging from grey, blue, clear, most of which are...

150 Postie build, now on the road!!

Have just been informed my swingarm and the rest of the goodies are waiting at home. So it looks like when i get back there'll be a day or two that will need to be put aside for the postie again. WOO HOO!

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

Glad it's worked for ya! i haven't touched the post since this mod and still have a few gremlins to iron out. Have a bunch of goodies waiting at home for the posties next evolution but am concentrating on my 4x4 build at the moment.

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

Would sure help it out alot. I've got LED turn signals and taillight/brakelight already. When my little fella is free from this jail they call hospital (which also frees me), I reckon a LED headlight sounds like an good idea.

    private property laws..

Unfortunately there IS noise restrictions in place at ANY time of the day. They just aren't enforced by the police (whose law is similar and just as vaguely worded as usual). The EPA has a noise law which was pointed out to me by my father in law a few years ago who was the chief detective for...

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

It would be easy to change over to a larger rotor / stator combo but as mentioned you must sacrifice tuneability as well as performance. During my research i found a few crank failures and other catastrophic breakages after switch to a larger rotor. This mod in my eyes has been a success in...

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

Battery is currently on charge to see if there is any change in rec/reg performance with a charged battery. The headlight which is on one side of the rec/reg was connected to one side of the phase and the rec/reg battery charge was hooked to the other side of the phase. Little fella goes in...

    Pumper carbs, Whats out there?

What is this molk mod you speak of? He he, hot start, mech decomp and pumper to mess with the uneducated! No electric leg and on the side of a steep hill! Simply grab deck chair, cold beverage and enjoy the show!

Rta: Small motorcycle special speed limit

That is interesting. This would mean that no scooter, including postie bikes can travel at over 50km/hr after sunset, this seems very strange and i wonder if our interpretation of the rule is correct.

    Pumper carbs, Whats out there?

You would be correct Cactus, the molkt is 24mm. I'm not sure why i wrote 25 in my previous post which states that Chameleon is correct. He had said 24mm. Must have been a typo! I'll definately be rolling the throttle on and not snapping it open with that one as it does squirt a fair volume!

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

the 40-50 is dc, measured after the rec/reg but obviously not getting regulated. This was all done with the bike at running temp as its currently being a pig and won't idle unless warm. It was also done with the headlight (yellow rec/reg wire) to one side and the charge input (white) on the...

    Pumper carbs, Whats out there?

Tai Chi, you are correct, The Molkt is a 25mm version. I used this along with the OKO as a comparison against the pumper TM because they are fairly common. I would have used a VM Mikuni as well if i had one at my disposal. However, the TM28-1 measures in at 32mm x 24mm giving it the...

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

Just had a spare half hour so went out for a bit more of a play. This mod DOES give you 2 outputs to play with BUT only gives you half the power of the original to each output. Also just found out my reg/rectifier is shot and requires replacement (DAMMIT!) as with one of the feeds hooked to...

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

hmm, tech answer would be it is now a single phase coverted from half phase. But some will say it's now two phase.

lifan 150 twin output stator mod

ORKs are more rider friendly and tuneable than an IRK or standard ignition. Same concept, slighlty different execution.

    More noob questions...

TyD, I'd be keeping well away from an IRK, They are extremely outdated and asking for trouble. Your much better going with an ORK with adjustable timing. less prone to causing damage elsewhere in the engine
