150cc quad

My partners sister bought herself a quad bike for christmas, just an ebay special 150cc shineray engined cheapie, and it needs some improvements.
Im planning a oko carb as it has a tiny 19mm carb and inlet manifold,and i will be chucking an aftermarket exhaust i have lying around on it.
Its biggest problem isnt power tbh, its the suspension. Its running 320mm ebay cheapie shocks on the front, and a 250mm on the rear. It rides like crap to be honest, very rough.
Has anyone ever bothered to turn these into a decent bike?

Hi,
Can we get some pics of the quad and a bit more info on the standard setup. Does it have the 2 or 4 front A arm setup? Do the front shocks have the remote gas reservoirs? If it's just the cheapy shocks they wont have and shock dampener adjustment I take it. And anything else that you can think of that may help us help you.

No remote res or adjustments on the quad shocks, will throw some pics up tomorrow night.

I reckon you'll be hard pressed to get that thing handling right shags.
A cheap shock is a cheap shock. I know you know that, but I reckon it will be forever a bouncy ride without some crazy expensive shocks and thats if the frame builders got the geometry right?

Yeah i know, the sis in law is happy enough with it, but i most certaintly am not lol. Thinking i might try another set of cheap ebay shocks that are gas charged, only 120 delivered and they surely cant make it any worse...

You gonna run the intake pointing forward or get the adaptor to run it sideways to clear the starter?

Was planning on running it facing the front, with one of the tb mushroom filters..
