Gday guys,

Quick background on myself.
I'm 19, about 65kgs, 5ft10 and used to ride all the time up until I sold my YZ85, YZ125 and ebay pitbike a couple years back. But my love for dirtbikes keeps calling, so considering I can't afford to buy the latest KTM 500EXC at the moment, I've decided I'm buying another mini, but a proper one this time.

After doing days of research and considering all the factors, I've decided to go with a Motovert.

I was originally looking at an 09' Motovert Pro 125cc daytona with elka rear shock and generic adjustable forks for $1750, but was told from the shop that the new 2012 Motovert Pro 160cc for $2000 s#!ts all over the 09' model.

So only having a few days knowledge on mini bikes, I'm a bit up in the air because from what I have read, daytonas are the way to go for engines and an elka shock is top end too, yet the parts on the 2012 are just generic.
I need the help of the experts on this one to help me pick which bike would be the better buy.

Ideally I would like to spend less than $2000. But if I have to spend two or a bit more, I can.

Any help is appreciated, cheers!

i'd be going for the 160cc for sure, especially coming off a YZ125 don't reckon you'll get teh wanted power out of a 125...

I'm not expecting to get anywhere near the power that my YZ125 had out of a pitty and I will also be teaching my missus how to ride on it so if anything, YZ125 power would be a bit much haha.

Would you still go the 160cc even though the 125cc is a daytona and from what I've read, more reliable?

if your after an 09 keep an eye out on gumtree and this site, i got a 09 daytona 125 off here with the marzochies and elka for 1100

But was that brand new? The 09' im looking at is still in a crate.

Anyone?? I want to make a decision by next week sometime..

An 09' model, as mint as it is once opened and ridden will significantly loose any value it actually had (not that China minis could ever be collectables lol)

If you can shell out the $2k for the 12' model then i reckon you should. If you wanna up grade in a yr or so it'll only be a yr old, not 4.

Good point, cheers. Now I'm leaning towards the 12' 160cc. Now my next question, is that my best value for money in that price range?

DHZ do a good bike, and if ya have $2k you can get a decent bike PLUS have some coin left over for some extra goodies.

eg: DHZ OUTLAW 160R, LKI Sticker, New Release

Yea I looked at that one and from the specs it seems like a better bike than the 160cc motovert, but from everything I've read the motovert is a better built bike?

When you say "Chinese bikes" do you mean all pittys except the usual yami's, suzi's, hondas, kwaka's, ktm's etc?

The 2012 motorvert is a linkage bike

for the price i wouldn't even consider the 09 even with the elka the front end is stock

linkage bikes weather it be ciniworx pitster psto or motovert hands down handle better than anything else on the market pitty wise

enjoy
