Ok, basically bought an 160cc atomik for nothing, because it won't go into 3rd and 4th, pretty sure the guy didnt have much of an idea about it, basicly new he said it was a factory defect?, or did he not do something when building it up. does anyone know if there's any adjustment in the box, or what I should do to fix this? Will a box fit from another atomik aka 125cc one? Cheers

maybe the shift star in the gearbox is loose or not aligned?
a bent rod from the shift lever to the star?
a damaged shift drum?
a broken gear maybe?

first thing to do would be take the rh cover off the clutch and see what you can spot.

there are a lot of different types of gearboxes around.
i have 4 motors apart at the moment with various problems, eg gearbox and casings damaged.
the only 2 gearboxes i can swap gears with are the 110 and a 125.
my other 125 has a different gear set, and none of the gearbox cases seem to interchange either, different size bearings etc etc

^^^^ thanks heaps, I'll Suss all these things when I pull it apart, cheers for the quick reply and all that info

Was it like this out of the crate or have you been using the bike for a while. If it is new and this has happened, return the bike and get a changeover or a refund. These Minibike sellers are still held accountable to the trade practices act whilst selling in Australia.

I bought it off a guy who built it out of a box he said he couldn't get them to do anything about it, because he rode it like that, so I got it cheap thinking worst comes to worst I'll replace the box

Well I fixed it, took it apart no damage or anything removed the shift star put it back on, and it went through the gears fine, random as! I guess that's what you get for Chinese crap haha
