its all original, only 600kms, dunno what year
i got offered it for $300
pretty sure its not the postie looking one
is this a good price?
anything i should look at before buying??

cheers for any answers/advice
Ash.

pretty awesume price for a ct70 they are getting real popular the cts and daxes snap it up

oh look for the compliance plate bout 50mm back from the headtube. but if its missing dont worry its still crazy cheap you could go and buy a complied frame for less than 200 on monkey garage

Id grab it for $300.... no its not your everyday postie that's a ct110

600km is jack shyt for any ct70 all ct70's are late models i presume

Just have general overlook:

Oil leaks
Blowing smoke
Weaping around head and block
etc etc

if you dont want it ill buy it:D

grab it, you can always stuff a 140 or something in it...

is it the horizontal "dax" style frame? their rare as hens teeth:eek:(and would then be an SL(?)70...)

or the more common "postie" style, with an angled downtube?

it wont have a compliance plate, it would be roughly late 60's thru to 70's....

all youll need for rego is a receipt of purchase(who you bought it off and for how much....less = cheaper rego...), and all the niggly bits...lights, indicators, horn, working brakes, a killswitch, fresh tyres with tread... if its already been registered, it will make life easier, as well...

if you do upgrade the engine over 100 cc, the greenslip will be roughly 250...$105 if its kept under 100cc... might be different cus youre in SA...

would be nice if it ran for 300.... i got mine for $60 at a garage sale:) just needed a new battery...(and just picked up an ancient ct50 for the cost of picking it up...:))

youll need a battery at the very least, and to learn how to set points ignition if you keep the original engine... very different to the plug n play cdi systems(pre '84 = points = learning curve...)

if its got any major rust and or parts missing....pay as little as possible... and post pics of it, even if it is covered in pigeon turds and chicken feathers:)

yeah its a 'dax' style frame,
as a kid i saw it in his shed always wanted to ride it, they never let me,
but yeah got my Nan bringing me the owners manual tomorro,
all mechanical work is no hassle for me,
will be a ground up restoration, most likely all original,

cheers heaps for the info guys, much appreciated

ok guys update time!!!!

i have in my hands the owners manual,
ont he front it has 'Honda Motor Co LTD 1972'
so guessing it either 1972 or 73 model
my Nan says it has a rego plate, meaning i can re-register it for road use,
my Mums uncle has started the bike on a regular basis,
it still has the original key and tool kit,

so basically this is exactly what i was looking for,
just need to get some cash and make the trip to their place and pick it up,

will keep you guys informed and will post a thread during resto work....

heres what it looks like now:

spent some time stripping her down for a good clean,
havent tried to get her going yet,
after a good clean and few bits are adjusted or replaced i will see if she runs,

plans include:
88cc big bore kit
high volume oil pump
heavy duty clutch
some nice road tyres
mild cam
replace every gasket and seal
replace all rubber bits
get everything re-chromed or replaced
get her road rego'd again

this will be a resto rather than a modded Dax.

cheers
