I thought i'd start a thread to show some of the new stuff that has come out for the Daytona 190's

There are now 3x Daytona 190's available, the 190FDX, THE 190 FLX, and the Daytona FD

The FLX and FD both have lighting coils installed.
The new FD engine has a road based gearbox, 1 down 3 up gearbox, perfect for highway use. i
It was released 3/10/2014

Aussie importers should make a habit of importing the flx . Plenty of us would want the rec reg and run a head light off it. (well it will be a good option). Surprised that the road version has a tight 1st gear.

I'd rather buy the clutch and crank only in all honesty

Pistons can seize when sitting at high rpm's, then rods let go, and you end up with damage like this
These pics are of a Daytona that let go, borrowed from a thread over at Planetminis.
So using a decent piston, Rod and Crank can be a bit of insurance against this happening.

Oh sugar, only 18 hours on it only also, usually I thought there is mainly only clutch problems with these bikes engines

THats some major pain, thankful to say there dont sem to be a huge amount of these instances. Would be cheaper to buy a new engine by the looks of the damage...

Painful oh the pain

Does anyone know when they are going to release some mods for this engine like a 210cc or 230cc ?

Braaap told me about a big bore kit coming soon, but they didn't know when.

Daytona Injection kits are getting close, personally i prefer a carby

Links didnt seem to work craig?

I NEED THIS. I NEEEEEEEEED THIS

Have you ridden an injected big bike Craig?

I have never heard 1 person want to go back to a carb afterwards.

Power delivery is so smooth.

They are obviously harder to work on yourself but worth it in my opinion.

All I want for Christmas is an injected 450. haha

Once you learn how to manipulate fuel maps, you'll never go back to carbs.

Nah i haven't ridden anything injected.
The biggest bike was an IT465 back when i was 16,
and if fitting a throttle body and injection to that makes more power it wouldn't be too rideable, i had to hang on for dear life once it got into powerband....

But if you work out the cost of the injection, inc the extra sensors etc, add on the programmable ecu, the laptop etc etc, $1000 minimum i'm guessing
That cost could buy me 4 or 5 carby's, PWK and PE's, all different sized and jetting, set up for my bike for different conditions too.

And how many members here or elsewhere have an injected pit bike ?

It's the way of the future and only natural minibikes would go down that path eventually. Same thing with linkage making it's way from big bikes to mini's.

I don't think any big bikes except 2 bangers don't have injection now days.

Most people own a laptop so you could take that out of the cost.

It's still not cheap but best thing is it automatically adapts to the conditions so you don't have to worry about swapping and playing around with things all the time. You will always have the best setting for wherever your riding. No bogging or anything every again. I could see massive benefits for people racing.

There is a thread on here somewhere with a guy that did it a couple of years ago. He got some real positive results. Will try and dig up the thread as it's a good read.

yeah i have read a couple here, one didn't finish his conversion.

My sherco 450 is injected one of the first along with a Gas Gas . going back to 2005 . The Spanish used e.f.i Riding the high country above 1500 m t above sea level it cant be beat . Carby bikes fart and carry on. Also when you drop the bike you can start it up instantly unlike a carby bike. It drops it fuel through overflows guts . ideal for mx racing aswell. Quick starting back to racing.
