Well well well.....

Went to blackduck on the weekend ...

And blew the crap out of me engine

3rd pinnnnnned hitting a step up , little panic rev or 3 ....

Them kibblewhite 450 springs bounced and did some damage..

What doo ya's reckon caused it?

Im assuming the exhaust valve bounced hit and so on...

But the intake pocket on the piston has some nice indents as if it was to small for the valve (Classichonda? i think you need to look at them pistons again lol)

pictures...

Lifted the cylinder off lol

Bent? pin slides in and out nicely , no obvious marks on the end of the rod or pin..
And found abit of the rings in the bottom end lol..

So ......... Now what lol

Bigger and better i guess.

When something lets go and it's a pissy little bolt that ends your day i'm pissed as hell. But when things go that rong all you can do and sit back and say WTF!!!

Check your roller rockers didn't let go, happened to be but i was sitting in the pits and all i needed was a new exhaust valve and piston.

Call classic honda, he'll even sell you just an exhaust valve for 20 bucks i think from memory. New valves springs retainers etc is 90 i think. You'd wana hope your V2 isn't cracked too.

I'm calling cheaper to start again with a HO or 175. Strain on the big ends mean that the'll fail next.

EDIT won't be your rollers becasue valve only bent after gudgen let go and piston twisted

Yer im gonna have a good think about what i should do next.

Thinking something not Chinese

Dont want to spend a good amount of coin on this if it needs it , would rather save a little more and import a klx110 engine from states , and get some of the engine mounts to be able to run it. 1.5-2k already built up bigger then this was .

I was cheering that it was some good damage and not something little ... because it did end my w/e's riding in the first hour being there lol

I always wondered how high i could rev it with them springs

good to see your optimistic about it, a klx engine would be sweet

is it just me or does your conrod look rusty

nice effort.. another trophy for the destruction wall lol

poo woggy...

im gonna call piston failure, maybe due to over rev but who's know..even oil flow problems can do this but usually the wrist pin will be blue..

the piston has broken right on the oil ring groove.

conrod looks bent but maybe its just the pic.

i wouldnt be fixing tht engine.
crank will be bad, main bearings too. not to mention the oil pump from shit going thru it..

oh and wat carby were you using?

yer didn't look to much into it but the crank looked pretty straight, looks bad in picture tho.

i brang the 30mm but didnt even get enough time to try it.... lol

Hmmm lol cant do much but laugh ... *sigh*

haha you've been trying to kill this engine for a while now.... it's good to see it go in a good way hehe like you said would be pissed if it lunched a gear or something lame like that

heat up the bore and smash the piston out! I wanna see the damage!

That was the first and only tb piston i bought and had maybe 8 hard hours on it

Yer rip , im happy in a way lol

Yer ill knock the piston out tomorrow arvo to.
and check the head and crank out..

I took it apart while i was out there as i was excited to see what i did lol

all started when we didnt swap carbs haha na jks but thats deffinitly sum bad luck there hope ya get it all goin good again

I must of still been pretty drunk in the morning when i pulled it apart

The crank/rod is bent pretty nicely lol .... very easily noticeable

took it all apart today , here some more pictures.

The intake valve is bent to .
