General servicing on a bike

1)Do a quick clean up of your bike get as much of the mud and **** off as possible.

2)Check you chain. Make sure that isn’t too loose or it can break off your stator sensor ( http://www.miniriders.com.au/motor-tutorials/25618-stator-replacement.html ). You’ll then be up for a new one. The oil your chain:

3)Check your brakes give them a clean:

4)Check spokes. Tighten if needed or replace them if needed:

5)Give your carbie a clean:

6)Put some decent oil in it:
- Shell Advance 4T Motorbike Oil - 15W-40, 1 Litre - Supercheap Auto
- Castrol Activ 4T Motorbike Oil - 15W-50, 1 Litre - Supercheap Auto

7)Clean air filter and oil:

8)Check all bolts are tight, lock tight if needed.

and i think everyone should change there Philips head screws to Allen heads i was sick of them stripping

Cables are usually a forgotten part that needs maintaining, at work we use hhs2000 wurth lubricant and spray it in the cables, if you have never done your cables then i reccomend pulling them off then hanging them up and spraying lubricant in them while moving the inner cable back and forth and then letting them hang overnight to make the lubricant travel in the cable liner. Basically when i service i will also lube all pivot points, such as rear brake lever, footpegs, stand, swinger bearings, wheel bearings, pivot sections on my levers, the caliper rubbers, shock and fork adjustment parts, and removing the rear master cylinder dust cover on the rod and spraying in where the circlip is and there is some others but you catch my drift.
