Gday guys, I have a postie (ct110) built for flat track racing with a gpx 125 high comp engine fitted, I had a guy porting the head and cleaning a few things up for me and fitting a HD clutch. He screwed me over abd I got the engine back in a box of parts.

anyway re assembling the engine and I’m stuck with clutch assembly I have a thick washer with the internal spline cut, I have a think sort of flat washer and a lock washer with 3 tabs and then the clutch nut, he told me I was missing a spacer of some sort but he hasn’t given one back from the old clutch either so just after a diagram of the clutch set up or some insight on what order washers go etc etc

Is it a mainshaft-mounted clutch? If so, post some pics of the parts you have

These are the two clutches and washers etc and a gear that I can’t see where would belong

Are both clutch baskets the same size? Do both slide all the way on the mainshaft with no slop or play?

Take the outer spring plate with the bearing and the four clutch springs off and slide the clutch you want to use in place on the mainshaft. Make sure the big primary drive gear meshes with the outer gear on the crankshaft properly. If it does, take a few pics (clear and close) and post them up here. You may be missing a thrust washer, for final assembly, and I need to see what you have for room.

Seems to mesh and line up nice and snug, not tight or anything

I also have just found this washer aswell sort of dished with outside stamped on one side

Take that thrust washer you found and install it on the mainshaft, and then see if one of those "4-notch" nuts threads onto the end of the mainshaft and draws up tight. Post a pic if it works...

I’ll give it a go shortly thanks mate, and what about the other internal splinted washer and the locking washer with 3 tabs?

I didn't see any slot or groove machined on the mainshaft where the splined lock washer and 3-tab washer go, they may just be extra parts that were in the box

If there was a groove, you would slide the outer clutch basket in place, slide the splined washer down to the groove and then turn it so it locks the basket. Then you slide the 3-tab washer, tabs facing down, onto the splined washer, preventing it from rotating and becoming undone. After installing the clutch plates and the inner and outer pressure plates, the thrust washer and threaded nut then go on, holding everything in place.

That is what is called an "oil through" it should go on the end of the crankshaft as shown below. It keeps a constant passageway for oil to lubricate the crankshaft from the clutch cover.
