I recently bought a lighting kit for my pitbike, there is only one connection for the ignition, a black wire w/ yellow stripe. The other wire is a green one with a ring connector.

If I solder on the correct connecter will the bike start?

I'm at a loss for what I should do next.

Does your engine have a lighting coil on the stator?

Is there a white wire? and/or a yellow wire? among those 5 wires?

The yellow is usually the power source from the stator for running a light

The stock harness is meant to connect to this newer one but it won't start up with all the connections plugged in, there's no connection for the green input on the ignition coil, only a ring connecter that grounds onto the frame. If I plug it in it does the same job as the green wire coming from the stator.

Can you post some pictures of the lighting kit, so we can get an idea of what you're working with?

Are you trying to plug the lighting kit into the existing harness for your bike?

Post some pics of your bike as well, if you don't mind.

Can't get it to run with the harness hooked up, there's no ignition connection that works just a black wire w/ yellow stripe next to a ring connector.

Me, It's a mess I know. It runs but won't charge the lights, it has something to do with the ignition. These two wires should hook on to the ignition coil, only one connection tho, the black and yellow.

You tie the black/yellow wire into the same black/yellow wire that goes to the ignition coil, and then ground the green wire to the bolt that holds the ignition coil to the frame.
