Introduction..
I Just picked up a brand new, in the crate, TaoTao DB27. I bought it to teach my 14yo 6'1" boy how to ride, but It is a surprising how much fun i am having on it.

My only mods so far are a 16 tooth front sprocket to tame down first gear for my new rider, and modifying the foot pegs to move them down and back slightly for big feet and long legs.

Glad you're here! I'm sure your son will have fun (if he gets you off of the machine)! Good to see you here! Let us know how he does!

Those look so good. Do you get good altitude when jumping them?

I got my son an Apollo DC-25 (70cc fully automatic) for a starter bike and he's doing AWESOME! I figured if he's going to learn on, crash or not like dirt riding, I'll let him figure it out on a $500 bike instead of a new $4,000 bike! I'm going to sell this one and put him on a 50cc KTM if he keeps improving.

I hope your son enjoys it as much as mine. He asks me every weekend if we are going to the track (2 hour drive away)...

He cuts our grass for $10 which gives him a few weekends worth of gasoline and the money needed for entrance to the park we ride in. Trying to start him off earning his fun!

Keep up the posts!

we hit enoree for his first ride outside of the back yard. he crashed a lot and broke a few parts, but no injuries and he had a good time :

That looks like a good place to ride.
good place to learn. 27 miles of ,not very technical, trails and lots of soft sand. the fact that it's only 45 minutes from the house and $5 to ride all day is just gravy.
