how do i adjust my front drum brake?

i snapped my front brake lever off my pitpro110 yesturday so i chucked a bmx lever an holder on but now with it on i cant pull the lever back to brake
even if i adjust them really loose it pulls back a little bit but then it wont brake because its loose so does any one know whats going on??
can some one tell me how to adjust it right oh an its a drum not disc

or do i just buy a new one that i broke
i would prefure the bmx one cause its a two finger brake lever so its small an dont get in the way
 
ok thanks will i still have this problem of the cable beeing so tight if i get the original one back on??
 
get a decent lever too while your at it stay away from m.c.s (motorcycle spares) levrls there shit get a billet lever there was one on ebay not so long ago for $40 in red it looked so trick and was strong either that or get a folding lever stay away from dhz ones though there shit aswell.
 
Support the sight and ESD man they got plenty of levers, Kenny has suffered a pretty burly injury this week but leigh will sort ya out mate .
 
yeah but my problem isnt were to get a new lever from my problem is why is the cable so tight??
