Pro Circuit T4 exhaust system for the Pitster Pro LXR160R
Price: $380
First impression: I thought it looked really cool on the bike and had a nice bigger bike sound to it over the stock exhaust, also no rattle like my stock muffler had
The pro circuit muffler was alot longer then the stock one and the muffler tip was a little smaller then stock. (I didn't have the muffler insert that most LXR/X4R have to start with)
To improve the look i think it should be a little shorter and tucked in more behind the number plate. looks abit to long im my opinion.
Looks rating: 7/10 (bit to common)
What i notice different: I notice the bike didn't have much bottom end but really took off once i got it up to mid-top end power.
I first brought a 160HO and put a V2 head on it that was ported so been ported bottom end was take off and put in top end. then i brought the T4 pipe and i found it to struggle ALOT down low because even more bottom end was taken off due to the new T4 pipe and couldn't do 2nd gear starts on race days. i hated it but eventally learnt to ride with it. But i did really like how much faster it was once it hit mid to high revs.
Not to long ago i got the 184 kit and PWK kelhin carby. the pipe works heaps better now with the engine as the big bore put more power everywhere and alot down low. can do 3rd gear starts if i want to now.

Issues i had: Besides the lack of bottom end with just the v2 setup the pipe is abit closer to the spark plug cap and burns the coil line, and having the decomp setup couldn't really move it away from the pipe. had to replace a coil and damage my new takegawa hyper coil :cursing: ziptieing the lead as far away as you can from the pipe should prevent it happening as badly though as well as some electrical tape.
overall: I recommend this pipe once you've got a powerful enough motor like a bigbore or v2 thats not ported i recommend it. On a stock motor don't think it'll be much help

Great review and I agree with everything you say.
Are you running a s35 or 25 cam? Im curious to see what the bottom to midrange is like with a s25.
Have you taken the spak arestor out??

thanks just thought alot of people have been asking and i've had it on afew motors, im not to sure what cam i'll ask reefy. and nah haven't touched the spark arestor out

forgot to mention that its also got a tuneable end haven't played with it yet though.

playing with the end (exhaust) makes a difference. They are heaps louder when you take the spark arestor out.

it'll work and be alright, just i dont think it'll be effective on a stock motor as say a v2 or 184 or both kitted engine, might take off power since stock motors dont have much go all round. thats what i felt anyway
best spending the money on actual engine upgrades and then the pipe in my opinion

Nice write up Harry. Very insightful on this mod good job.
