i used a high tensile bolt to bolt the manifold to the engine and it buggered the thread. what options do i have to fix the problem?

just tap a new thread and dont do it up so tight next time..........although if you dont have a metric tap and die set you can usually get a cheap one from the warehouse or go lo for about 15 bucks bunnings also sell them just dont do any heavy duty work with em fine for fixing threads on your bike though

Yeh thats what i was thinking didn't wana reck anythin else tho haha

nah you wont wreck it just maybe watch a video or 2 on utube on how to tap a thread in a blind hole its not hard just dont be heavy handed and remember to back it off every half turn or quarter turn

was the thread of the new bolt the same thread as the old one?
if its damaged the thread then chances are it needs to be helicoiled..
or if the bolt was too short then maybe you could use a longer bolt.
