hello,
thought i would post a build thread about for my kxf.
finally have a jap build lol
got it around christmas last year on the 2013 sale they had with kawasaki vs suzuki in prices, kxf was 200-400 bucks cheaper and i thought from reading all the articals and watching a million videos it was the better bike. was looking for one for quite afew weeks but they were always sold out so the day before getting one i gave up on the kxf and was going to go rmz. dad called peterstevens that next morning and asked if they had the rmz in stock which they did then asked about the kxf and they said they just got the last one in the shop.
so then i had to choose which bike again, (took ages to deside as there so similar) but thought i was after the kxf ever since the 2013 came out and been 200 bucks cheaper my uncle said get the kx so we brought it.
then got it home 2 days later and had my first ride at frankston on it (and first time ever riding sand like that and that track) on the saturday and sunday which was a first to.
was kinda intimadating at first with 100s of a grade riders there and never riding sand before on a new bike i didnt wanna drop it. 2nd day wasnt that many riders and bike was run in so felt alot more comfterable on it and started doing some of the bigger table tops.
then the next week when all the tracks opened i went to some tracks i knew from been able to ride the lxr on the big tracks. felt much better on it. also tried the black efi plug (agreesive is black, soft is white, green is stock)
black plug is my favorite one. started doing all the jumps at broadmeadows in my first or second ride which i thought would take abit longer but i was quite happy with that.
few more weeks later i had my first race which my dad said dont go flat out and try race just get used to it and the track. dropped it the week before and snapped the lever, went out in practice and realized my front wheel was pretty crooked and was really hard to ride. reefy fixed it for me then went it was first race, was mid pack and the caynon which ive never done before and thought its better to jump it then get landed on so i over jumped it almost onto the other jump lol, thought it would hurt but was like nothing happened.
the next week was round 2. dad said the same thing but i knew the track so i was going to have ago to see how i am on it.
was top 3 in the first race then red flag with a crash i was stuck in. only had 2 rounds that day as the first rounds were all red flagged. got a flat on the lxr and dad took it to a shop 10 minutes away and got back before the first race even restarted.
first race i did that day reefy gave me afew tips just before the race started, got the holeshot and had the lead for most of the race till i missed the inside line then got passed and got second, got 3rd overall for the day and 2nd on the pitbike with a blown gearbox and clutch.

really love this bike, suspentions abit hard but adjusted the forks down 4 clicks and rear shock 2 clicks and did the sag closes to it should be for me (needs softer springs as im around 70kg)
handled heaps better wasnt jumping around like it was, still needs setting up for my weight but its alright on bigger jumps just not bumps sometimes.
had a big crash at home on it with a rock, made a mess of the left side of it so need new plastics oil cooler straighten or replaced.

thanks brendo, hopefully going to a track next weekend and have internet on the 25th so i can post videos again. trying to get friends to ride but only 1 seems into it at the moment.
few months ago i also hit false netural and bent the clutch lever pretty good, so going to get one of them but cant deside what would be the best to go, thinking asv f3 and get one for the lxr to.
thinking of putting black plastics on it and maybe a padded seat cover.
keep hitting false neturals so im thinking my shifter isnt the right size for my boot so i think i'll get a hammerhead.
needs valves done now to,
want to get a fmf powerbomb exhaust system for it and a blue sprocket

rode the local sand track on sunday, with hardpack tyres bike handled really bad which is expected. funny noise when i did the jumps. pulled the wheel off and can push the brake side fork up by hand and slowly comes back down. so getting forks done tomorrow, hopefully they can make them abit softer. need to some how get all the oil out of the front brakes aswell.
local bike shop just started stocking Kawasakis should be able to fix this up now. about to start racing again for the first time in a year.

finally got my forks back, had a chip in the leg that was leaking so almost had to send them off to qld to get recoated, the local shop came up with an idea to try sand it lightly and paint over it to get rid of the mark, almost feels like nothing is there so hopefully want rip the seal. handles better then it did, bit softer then before which is good.
just need to put on the new grips and get some brake cleaner to get rid of the oil in the front brake.

New bars. Had to get the adapters that raise it abit which i dont think i like so might get new mounts.
got zeta rubber killers coming hopefully tomorrow which will hopefully keep the bars straight. Cant get the mounts to stay straight with the rubber bushes.

new bars are great. zeta rubber killers deffently worth it.

broke the chain guide at ridepark few weeks ago so havent ridden much last few months
order that then all the teeth came off the front sprocket so ordered chain and sprockets.

10926362_10202768505447754_6918675888193931697_n.jpg

was after a blue sprocket but the pack was only in green so anyway.
went to a 14/51 instead of 12/50. have to change gears more often now in the corners but hopefully give me abit more speed for the jumps always rev limiting on the up ramps and barely making the jumps at ride park
