I just bought this bike off ebay. I already knew it wasn't a good quality bike before I bought it. I knew it was chinese and that it wouldn't last.

Its my first bike and I don't really know if I will stick with trail bike riding long term (I got sick of my wave runner within about 6 months). So I figured by something cheap, if you like it then upgrade to something decent. I know its going to break before long.

Turns out I love it so im now saving for a decent Jap bike. But I thought I would do a review on my TDR.

Price: $478 plus $65 delivery from ebay
Engine: 125cc Ducar 4 stroke
Transmission: Universal Non-Rotary, 4 Down (N1234)

I don't know much at all about bikes and don't have much to compare it too, but overall the bike is fun to ride and so far the only problems I've had are a leaking fuel line, which was easy to fix.

It gets up to about 80km/hour in 4th gear, it would probably do 90km/hour if I flogged it. Im about 75kg.

Its definately not of high build quality, and I can tell that if I trash it, it will break. The welds on the frame don't look very good quality, so I won't be jumping it at all. But for riding trails and just mucking around down the paddock, so far it has held up fine.

But overall for $500 odd bucks I've had the most fun I've ever had over the last few weeks. Its probably the best $500 bucks I've spent, because if I didn't buy this I probably would have never wanted to put the hard yards in to save and get a good quality bike. Now im saving, im going to keep riding the TDR until it breaks, and then probably give it to my young cousin to fix up and muck around on.

So I guess if you are looking for a good quality long term bike, this bike is not for you. If you just want something very cheap to have fun on, to see if trail bike riding is for you, then I recommend it. But remember, its going to break before too long, so don't get pissed off when you have to fix it.

EDIT: Sorry, I just realised that my post is not in the correct format. Im new to the forum, I should have read the rules first.

Your right mate. Welcome to Mini Riders. Thanks for the review.

Most china bikes are fine for what you are doing with them. Just need a bit of TLC before you jump on the them and the will last a while.

I also have a TDR as of 3 weeks ago and so far so good apart from a few minor problems, agree with everyhting you said.

I agree with everything you've said about this bike. I've had mine for about a month and it has been such great fun! I've upgraded a few things already but not because anything has broken. :)

I bought a new DHZ bike a few weeks ago, so I went out with a mate yesterday, I was riding the DHZ and he was riding my TDR. Very muddy conditions so the bikes copped it a bit.

The clutch on the TDR died about an hour into the ride so we had to come back :( It had just enough left in it to get it back. Now it won't start at all. The clutch lever is completely stuck and when you kick it over the kick starter feels real spongy like the clutch isn't grabbing.

Going to try to work out whats wrong with it in the next week.

Some before and after pics attached of both the DHZ and the TDR after our mud session :)

Can you go over jumps on the TDR. Also Does it overheat quickly? i just bought on and was wondering if i was better off spending extraand getting a 125 Atomik Pit Bike instead?

Ive been jumping mine and flogging mine in mud conditions like those photos for the past 4 months and i have only had to replace the fuel tank.
No wonder the tdr stuffed up if that was the first ride its ever been on. not the best way to run in a bike and i bet you didnt change the oil and it would have been blowing smoke.

thats mad then mate i was gonna get one but then i found a ciniworx 125 for 450 and i snapped it up right away lol. yeah on my first china i stuffed the clutch pretty bad now is slips out of any gear back in to neutral.. dont flat/race shift ya rig :p

It wasn't the first ride it was about the 5th. It has already well and truly been run in before that ride. And of course I changed the oil. I do it regularly. The problem with the clutch was mud inside the clutch housing. Cleaned it and now its fine.
