Here are some pics of my new bike.
Paid $350 as is.
I plan on transplanting my new z160ho and oko 26 out of the dpro and onto this frame. Put my wheels and bars over etc. And return it to its former glory.

im thinking I could do a 17inch front 14 inch rear on this bike. The tensioner is as tight as, keep in mind what your seeing is currently a ten inch rear and a 12 inch front

A 12" rear wheel/tyre measures 240mm from the centre of the axle to the front edge of the tyre, how much room would you have infront of that ?
 
Currently it sits at 255 from the centre of the axle to the swingarm, I could push 280mm maximum. From what ive seen and read online these did come stock with a ten inch rear and 12 inch front? I think a 12 inch rear was $100 extra from factory?
I have a bigger immediate problem. The bearing and bushings in the rear swingarm have slight play in them, around 1mm, no more! May need new bearings and have something machined up to stop it rattling and causing further damage.
Also the rear brake pedal in broken. Theres nowhere to attatch the master cylinders push shaft to anymore.
And the rear shocks rebound adjustment cog/gear/turny thing is stuck on slow rebound. Maybe a bit of grit stuck in there. Possible?

I just found the dimensions for a Dunlop Gemomax 90/100/14 rear tyre, the overall height is 544mm.
That would make it 272mm from axle to the front edge of the tyre
How much adjustment would that give you ?
 
Not alot. If im really generous I could have 285mm maximum from centre of axle to outside of tyre. Am I being too ambitious? I went to kamikazee's yesterday with a tape measure, I measured around 260-265 on theyre bigfoot.

So I went to see about a larger pair of bearings for the swingarm today, current ones are 30mm outside diameter, the next size bearing available is a 35mm outside diameter which would leave next to no swingarm left around the bearing. I contacted a metal engineer not too far from me who can hopefully build up the seat where the bearing sits by welding layers of alloy on the inside, then send it off to be machined back out to suit the original sized bearing. Wont know for sure if it can even be done till next year after the christmas shutdown period but fingers crossed!!!! Failing this.. the swingarms farked
 
I baught some autosol aluminium polish today and im having a go with it now.. works a treat.. heres some before and after pics. Takes a matter of seconds to make it shiney again

I took off the triples, forks etc to make the frame easier to polish.
The bearings are knackered. How do I get this bottom one off it seems very stuck!!! Not too scared of breaking coz it is already!!!

sometimes you need to get a dremel or similar with a thin cutting disc on it and grind a vertical slot into the inner race, not right through though
once it's close put a cold chisel in the slot and tap it with a hammer to crack it right through, then it'll slide off
 
So basically just break it is ok? Where do I go to get some good quality replacements? Is there a spot I need to measure etc? Whats the technical name of this kind of bearing?

Taper bearings, you will need the inner and outer, make sure you remove the outers in the head stem of the frame.

The correct way to remove the bottom bearing is to place the clamp in a shop press and press the stem out and the bearing will come out with it

yeah as loco said, take the bearing cups out of the head tube of the frame too.
there will be part numbers printed on the fatter side that you can check on them to make sure they'll fit
any bearing shop would have them, or be able to get them in.
 
I'm 99% sure that bike will take the same headstem bearings as crf 50's. I had a hard time sourcing a set online a while ago, I ended up having to pay $95 from a honda dealer for a set, so it pays to do a bit of research online
 
Theres a place near mine gardener bearings, they sell every type of bearing available so the guy I spoke to reckons.
Has books that list all the types, sizes shapes etc. Ive kept the parts to take in to show them. He can measure it up and give me replacements. Im hoping they'll be top quality at a "bearing shop" price!!
