Let me start off by saying hello. Coming from NC state in the U.S.
Now for the fun stuff.
This 1 of a few projects that I am working on.
It started life off as a helpless 50cc scooter. Then I decided as soon as a saw it. To convert it into a full on mini motorcycle. I thought about and looked up pontential motor plants for this build. And I decided to go with the ninja 250cc. This turned out to be a perfect decision for this. 1. For the price you can get the motor for is a great deal.2. Still plenty of parts for this motor.. 3. I can upgrade to the 300cc. Or stroke the 250cc up to the 300 for dirt cheap. 4. I can bolt in the 500cc motor without having to change the motor mounts. So I thought this was the best choice.
I am building this bike to use on mini tracks. But also with the idea of using it a the full size tracks.
I might even try to get it registered as a road legal motorcycle. Still not sure if I really want to go that route though.

how would you do the change from a presumably flat moped engine to a vertical cylindered engine?
Interesting build non the less.

Had to weld in some motor mounts for the new engine. I was prepared to fab up some.
When I bought the motor. The guy I bought it from. Cut the chassis leaving the motor in. So I cut out the ninja 250 motor mounts. Then welded them in the scooter chassis.

so after the motor change there will be no scooter left, right?
and That isn't the frame that was stock with the scooter??

Unless thats the ninja before the engine/frame got cut out??........otherwise nothing scooter related in those pics!

I'm using the scooter chassis and fairings.
The ninja 250 have a tube style chassis.
In the engine bay, nothing but the battery. When it was in scooter form.

I agree, every scooter I've ever seen has a step through type chassis....
If It not a step through, it's not a scooter.........
Maybe they have a totally different idea on what a scooter is over there???

Either way, that thing looks bad-ass!!

Thanks....
Scooter= motor and swingarm 1 complete unit. Cvt type trans no gears.
Some mopeds have step through style chassis also. But they are not classified as scooters.

Alright heres some pics with the bigger rims, forks and swingarm. I plan on using well the swingarm and rims may change.
