Shimming transmission/gearbox and clutch, YX160

Is there anyone here that can explain how to shim a box, where to shim and shimming the clutch basket in easy terms to understand. I carnt seem to find much info on this seems like some people know a bit on this but don't put it up on the web. I'm just putting a new gear set in my yx160 and I find after dummy assembling my cases with the new box and gasket I got about a .50 mm play maybe more in the Shaft that holds the clutch. I was thinking of puting a shim in between the gear and the bearing inside the case. I don't know about end play/float or any think like that. I think most of us out here don't! Anyone that can help please put ya 10cents in and maybe we can all understand this

yeah, find a suitable .5mm shim that fits over the shaft and re assemble it.
and check that all the gears engage easily.
if they dont, you may need to try shimming it on the other end of the shaft
