Guys,

what the difference between the following

Lifan 150 1P56YMJ and the Lifan 150 1P56FMJ

thanks

do you have pics or links of both the engines...the difference could be age of which they were manufactured

well there both definitely lifan 150's.
it appears that the just simply different versions/models.

also i see on the dhz site that his stroke specs are different, i would believe that to be a typo

also i notice that the package from JR just ride has an oil cooler..

but id say there exactly the same engine apart from the obvious (colour)

there both the same engine with exact same specs
may have steel head or bore config were other has alloy head config

That what i would like to fine out as i have had issues with the alloy heads and the threads stripping
if its a steel head less chance of this happening

all china engines have alloy heads...
and all lifan 150's are alloy bore

if you want a cast iron bore then you need a lifan 140.. but there prone to kick start gear issues

Thanks Sean having this kind of help at hand is awsome...

So no matter what they all have alloy heads.. has any body had any issues with the treads stripping?

I have used helicoils in the barrel to put the bash plate back on but the intake holes on the head i has one of then strip and i have helicoilded that and it when in crocked... and that sucks.

they wont strip unless they are overtightened or have more strain then normal.
on the bash plate ones i use spring washers being the bash plate. not sure if lock tight is heat resistant?
but you could do either.

Cheers Matt yeah i think i did them a little to tight... and now i'm a little scared to tighten them

lol:) umm no probs.
yes i know the feeling... on my 125 i have like 6 bits where the bolt has snapped from over tightening and left itself in there.:)
oh well its a shitty engine anyways:p

yeah dont use a long spanner on little 6mm bolts(8mm spanner), they will snap or pull threads..
find the shortest spanner you can. gives you less leverage.
and only nip them up

one is with a painted bottom end and the other not...thats all

It this by observation of the pics or you know this for sure?
