Where is the CDI on 50cc china mini chopper

I just got two 50cc 2 stroke mini choppers for $25.00 each at a yard sale. I got one of them running but not very much power. Starts out really slow and when it ganins some speed (20MPH) it seems like it is holding its self back. I heard that there maybe a rev limiter or govenor on it. They have large metal sealed boxes under the seat where the wires go. I looked up CDi units on different sites, but for the 50cc bikes they look a lot smaller then mine. Any help on getting these running well would be great! I would like to use them for pit bikes(really COOL pit bikes), Thanks In Advance, CKRISGO

post a pic of your bikes and what you think is a cdi, most 50cc 2 stroke engines dont have a cdi...

also check to see if your reeds are in good order... possible you have low compression too.. rebuild time if thats the case..
