Hey everyone I'm new to this forum stuff. Was just wondering if anyone can help me out. I have just bought a 125cc electric start lifan engine for my atc70 and I want to use a 1982 Yamaha yz80 carby, can I just put it on and tune it with the 2 stroke jets or do I need different jets?

welcome to Miniriders,

dont forget to drop by into our Introduce Yourself thread and say hello too.

the Jetting will need changing for starters, the YZ jets will be too big

you'll need something like a #20 or #22.5 Pilot jet
and the Main jet you will need a #140 - #150

the Needle jet will need to be changed too, take the O-0 out and fit a P-4
and you will probably need a #1 or #2 slide for it

these guys will be one of the cheaper company's to buy the jet's/slide from
Sudco International - Modern and Vintage Replacment and Performance parts for Street Bikes, Dirt Bikes, ATVs and Personal Watercraft, Used Classic Bikes.

let us know how you go with the conversion

another option would be a china copy Mikuni, and just swap the Pilot jet over to a #20

cheers, craig

Thanks for the reply my67xr, will install new jets and let you know how I go

i was thinking of doing the same thing ages ago,
i found that info on thumpertalk, quite a few people have done it on the atc110 trike engine conversions too.

to me the cost in jets and slide wouldn't be worth it compared to the china Mikuni

have you had any luck getting the YZ carby up and running yet ?
