Miniriders Legend and Master Spanner Spinning Mode
Some general Miniriders User hints/tips etc, for members old and new.
If you are new to Forums etc, i am posting up a few helpful hints/tips that you might need to know.
when you start or reply to a thread here, you will see on the top left of the page.
your Username, and Avatar picture to the left (if you have added one)
these things tell other members who you are, and pictures of your bike, favorite things etc.
to the right of your User name,
you will see 3 rectangular boxes stacked on top of each other.
the top (Blue) box shows what Experience level you are at, and also shown at the far right of the page
the second (Orange) box down shows how many Points you require to get to the next level.
and the third (Green) box shows your Overall Activity spent at Miniriders
below that there is an Achievements row, so when you have been a member for 7 days, you earn that achievement
there are a few things you can earn here, the display below you name etc, only shows 5 though.
click here for the full list
and the box at the bottom of them all is the Reputation (or reps) box/row
Experience points are earned each day, regardless of you even logging in that day
here are some examples of the points members have earned today, Activities
there are quite a few ways to earn or lose points
click here for the full list
please have a read though our Introductions thread, and post up your details
Searching the forums
there is a Search tab up above the general forums,
click on it to search for specific things, eg Carby Problems
it will bring up a list of threads that match your search the best.
and use other terms too, , like in the above search, try searching Carburettor, carb, Mikuni, Oko, Flatslide etc etc
Please try searching here first, before posting a new thread !
if you find a thread that is relevant, look through it and see if it helps you out.
also check when the thread was started too, you may not get a reply to an thread that is 3 or 4 years old.
so in this case start a new one, also check which area you should post your new thread
some examples-
General, Technical, Chinese minis, Japanese etc etc
Reputation Points
Reputation Points are used in this forum.
they are there to show a measure of every member's level of contribution to the forums.
how helpful etc they are, and if someones gives good advice etc etc
basically the more little green boxes in the bottom row (below you Username), the more reps the person has.
it take a few reps to fill your first box, and then it all adds on from there.
There really isn't a point to reputation, I guess its a nice way to get feedback.
Green boxes are for positive feedback,
Grey are neutral from new/inexperienced members, ( don't have any actual point value)
To give out some Rep (sharing the love, lol)
if you look down at the L/H bottom of each post there are 2, or sometimes 3 little badges/tabs.
there is a star tab, if you click that it will bring up the reputation box.
here you have a couple of choices,
one to approve of the Users' post, the second is to disapprove of the Users' post, select the tab you need.
example- if you would like to give someone good rep points,
select i approve ,
and then write a comment or 2 in the text box below,
i usually add my username in brackets too, so people know where their rep points have come from.
(this is not a requirement though)
and for Negative rep, then select i disapprove
this will take off peoples' rep points
Using the Classifeds Area/Marketplace
all Members are required to have at least 10 previous posts (decent/.contributing etc) to sell anything here
Users are required to use the Layouts provided for selling and wanted to buy, swapping etc
and fill out all the headings, including pictures and prices of all the individual parts
copy and paste the Formats to your new thread, then fill in the details
have all the details ready to go when you start your thread, including clear pictures
any threads started without these requirements met will be locked/deleted until they are fixed/edited.
no bulk new items allowed,
and check your pricing against new/used current prices before you list something
lastly, i highly recommend that any items (bought or sold) are sent via Australia Post, Registered Post
it only cost around an extra $4 on top of the normal postage cost,
and it's very easy to fill out the form.
this gives you a tracking number, and insurance up to $100 if the item is lost or damaged in transit.
more insurance for higher valued goods is available too at an extra cost.
this will get your parcel hand delivered by the postie, or agent,
and if you are not home to receive the item/s, a note will be left for you from your local post office.
you will need to take some form of id there with you to pick up your parcel.
Adding pictures to your post
To add a photo saved on your PC
when you are writing your text in the reply box, select the Insert Image tab just above the box, second from right
then select from computer
and next, choose file,
it will now bring up a box containing your computer files,
go into recently changed or pictures (depending on what computer you use) and select you picture
once you have selected the picture, then press upload files
this will save your picture here and place it up in your post,
the image will show up as a thumbnail image
and can be shown as a full sized image by clicking on it
The other way to load pictures is via a Photo hosting website
i personally use Photobucket,
it is very easy to start up a new account, and it's free,
then you can load up your pictures from your PC into an album there.
once you have loaded the photos,
click on the photo you want to use, and on the right there are a couple of boxes
one will say Img code, click on this one and it will highlight it in yellow, and say copied
then, all you need to do is return to your post here.
select where you want to add the photo, right click, and then select paste.
the photo is now added to your post, it's very simple to do.
you can preview your post before submitting it too,
by clicking on the Go Advanced tab on the bottom right of the Post Quick Reply tab
(i like it, as you can edit it before posting if you need to)
Adding a Video from Youtube
select the video you want to post up,
right click and copy the code from the Address bar at the top of the page
come back to the page where you want to post on here,
and click on the Insert Video button, (second from right above the text box)
now right click in the box and select paste
this enters the code that will contain the video up in your post, then select ok
the video link is now in your post
now left click on Post Quick Reply and you are done
Adding a link to your signature (your build thread etc)
if you want to add a link in your signature to your build thread
copy the code in the address bar at the top of the screen in this thread.
then go into your Settings area,
scroll down to Edit Signature and click on it,
then in the text box write what you want your link to be called for example My ..... build
next, left click on what you wrote and drag the cursor across the Title to highlight it
then click on the little picture of the world with the little link on it
it will bring up a box above the text box with a space to paste the url code you copied before to that,
paste the link code there, then select ok.
finally select save signature down the bottom, and you are all done.
your link is now in your signature,
it might sound harder than it actually is, but if i can do it, then anyone can !!!
