Motorman is right. Over in America you need a green sticker to ride through national parks or almost anywhere and they are more uptight about it then we are. You won't get a green sticker if you have no spark arrestor. I just got a cr500 from America and it had one on it.

Make sure your two cam sprocket bolts are done up tight. Make sure the cam chain is not loose. did you put everything back together right? I'd put the race cam back in and see if it stops again.
