I just bought one of these engines new and fitted it to my sons bike. We have a 26mm oko flat slide on standard settings (100 main).
On first start up it started easily but the header pipe glowed red from the heat, is this normal?
Bit of a lumpy idle but other than that its sounds okay...
So what you're saying is the inlet adjuster is adjusted all the way out and there's no clearance?
If that's the case (and the new barrel is exactly the same length - I assume you replaced the barrel not the sleeve inside the barrel) then the only explanation for having that problem on the inlet...

Drain all old fuel
Pull carb out and give it a thorough clean - soak jets in new fuel and blow out with compressed air
Check operation of float in carb
Replace carb and clean air filter
Replace engine oil and install new spark plug
Kick that mother over and amaze yourself with your own...
Hi all - I have a frame that I'm building up of unknown origin and I have just discovered the headstock bearings (which are missing) must have an outside diameter of 40mm instead of the standard 44mm.
The headstock I have is the normal 22mm and 23.5 mm so I'm looking for taper roller bearings...
