    I found out what it is.... its a fugi pheonix 2stroke... its japanese, but it was mostly sold in america. If i was you i would try the blokes at strictlyhodaka.com I needed a shift cover for my motor and a bloke in america had one laying around so he sent it to me free of charge.. some hodaka...

    Thanx for the replys guys, I also thought maybe an air leak, so I replaced the fuel line yesterday... but.... no difference! I am running a stock cag carb at the mo and the only spare I have is a hp walbro replica I got from ebay a while back but never installed it because it needs a return line...

    the clutch springs are still good..... I had a look when I replaced the rings today. Its nothing too obvious, Ive had it pulled apart and stored for about a year and recently put it back together and had a good look over it during the process. Cheers, Dave.

    Are these 'hercules rotary' engines hard to get hold of? Rotarys are sick! :p I remember seeing an old Suzuki road bike with a rotary a while back. I'd love to get hold of something like that for the mini chopper I'm building. Cheers, Dave.

    thanx 4 the replys, i cant find an engine number at this stage, but i took this pic of the marking on the engine covers. hope this helps... cant say i think any of the suggestions so far would be a match, the weird small mudguards seem to be original but the seat and tank DEFINATELY aren't...
