    The blind bearings you might get out by heating around them then holding the case in both hands with gloves and giving the case a light tap on a timber bench.

    Mine has titanium valves .... I anodised one the other night to prove it wasn't stainless! White sparks off the grinder as well . My pinion gear is splined as well. It's a 426 The 400 had steel valves. The 400 and 426 have the same pinion gear .5JG-16111-00-00 GEAR, PRIMARY DRIV $42.89

    It has a diffenent tank and rad cowls as well ... It's frame and motor is 2001 wr Alloy subframe and side covers etc I know it's later but not certain what it is? If you say 2005 it prob is I'm not that familiar with the differences between years

    Could you please measure up the depth of the new timing gear teeth on your new crank please If you get a chance? I'd like to compare to mine... I'm a bit worried mine are a bit worn as well.

    Are you putting motard wheel on? Mine had been ridden on the road. I believe that's what destroyed my gearbox. Without a cush drive it's just too much stress on the box. Back cutting them will help.

    Have seen the copper layer on used gears. Isn't the drive shaft locked in position by the clutch basket nut and the driven by the chain sprocket locknut. I'm not sure shimming will give you the desired effect?

    Nice work .. I have a 426 as well bought it a year ago with a slippy fifth . I split cases and fixed her box up. Mashed valves on the weekend :( timing chain skipped when I backed of fast while spinning on the spot going up a hill. The auto Timing chain tensioner obviously not so auto...
