    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Right now I don't have the spring in there cause it slipped out of my hand as I was putting it into the carb and grew legs and took off cause I haven't found it since. And also cause the adjustment screw doesn't go in like its suppose to with it in there. I get a couple threads in and that's it.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

So what a difference in the way it runs with/without the intake tube. Wow I knew it ran good with it so I decided to put it back on and at least connect it to the carb since it's like 2 cm too short. Even if I push the air box closer to it, it's not enough. Anyway it ran so much better from what...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Yea I just need the carb body and if you have the float bowl I would take that too. My carb has some serious oxidation or pitting inside the float bowl. I wasn't able to get it out. My next option was sandpaper.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

I didn't see any for jr80, only rm80 and 1 for a ds80 but the seller wants $100 for a carb missing parts for the ds80.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Ok I found a used one on eBay. Does it matter if it's from a jr80, or rm80? Do you know if any of the years are the same or close?

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Screw hole so I bought a new pilot screw since the spring was unharmed and saved it. Of course when I go to put the new pilot screw in the spring falls out of my hand and disappears. So I ended up putting the pilot screw in and screwed it all the way down until it stopped and backed it out 1.5...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

I bought a two stroke oil with its own measuring cup and I ended up using the whole bottle of oil for 5 gal of gas. I'm pretty sure I was 32:1 cause I wanted this top end to last even though I read I could run 40:1 in it and be fine. So any idea what size jet I should get for the main jet? Also...

Then maybe I'm 32:1 I did it so there was more then enough oil in there

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Yea I think I'm running 32:1 or 40:1. I'm pretty sure it's 40:1 cause I wanted to be on the safe side.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Yea the shop I took it too bored it out and then honed it for me so it was ready to go. I've noticed a lot of fluid coming out of the exhaust. Why is there so much?

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

It seems too short too. I don't understand why cause the air filter box is mounted correctly and the carb is too. But here's another curve ball that I'm not sure if it would be adding to my problems. My cylinder walls were scarred up pretty bad so I had to go 1mm bigger in piston size. Would...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Right now I'm having issues with the tube from the airbox to the inlet of the carb. So after it came off I just kept it off since it's a pain in the arse and doesn't fit properly and that's how I'm seeing the fuel spitting out the inlet of the carb when I go from low rpm to full throttle. But...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

So I started it today and it runs fine on choke but won't idle off choke no matter how high I try to put the idle. Could this be cause I have the float too low now? When I'm coming off (idle) or trying to keep it alive and give it throttle. At first it spits fuel out the inlet and then revs up...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

It pretty much is parallel. I didn't bend the tab much just a tiny bit to where I noticed it closes the valve more now. I have the tab in the slot and also I have the bike straight up. It was just pouring out of the main jet. Hopefully this will help it run better too. It seems a bit off.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

I think I fixed the leaking issue. I bent the tab a little more cause I realized at the angle the carb sits at the float doesn't fully close the valve. Now it doesn't leak so I'll run it around the neighborhood and let it idle and see what it does.

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

So fixed the crankshaft and got the bike running but now I've noticed it's pouring gas out of the main jet. I took the carb apart (again) and the float moves freely. So what could be the issue? Does anyone know the stock e-clip position on the needle? Or what the bore and spigot sizes are?

No I haven't honestly, but then how would I get it to rehook back?

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

So I gotta take the magneto off again? I just had it off to replace the oil seal on the crank shaft. That was a biotch due to the crankshaft having screwed up threads. I went through 2 nuts trying to get it tight and then I realized the screws behind it were stripped. I'm gonna have a hell of a...

    Questions about my 1996 DS80

Craig I've been told that my kickstart can't be welded so can you tell me how to split the case? I have the gasket set but I'll just have to get the center gasket (for some reason that wasn't included in the kit) if I could split the case without having to take the magneto off that would be...
