06 thump filter probs

hey all with the o6 thump with a twin spar frame, how do u change the air filter ,as i heard u can only change it by taking off both the plastics and the fuel tank
 
You should be able to take it off without removing any of the plastics, just undo the hose clamp and pry it off carefully with a flat blade screwdriver.
 
I did hear in the new Freerider that you need to remove the tank and the seat to get to it..But there could be other ways, ive never seen one of these bikes up close.
 
no the new 06 thump airfilter is really hard to get 2, ypu have to remove plastics and tank to get to. in the 50s brotherhood mag they showed its position and the filter is facing the front of the bike and is between the 2 side crf plastics. this position lets it get more air. just have a look at its position in this pic.

take 5mins to take plastics & tank off, bit of hassel to clean filter every time after ride tho.
