Hey guys,

Thinking of bringing some bikes into the country from china :)rolleyes:)

What the best 125-150cc engine coming out of china at the moment?

Anyone have any ideas on model, im looking at mid to high range bikes.

Regards,
Shane

GPX/Jailing/Lifan are the best engines.
gpx is what thumpstars and most other high end chinese bikes run.

Thanks for the reply.

Arent Lifan just as shit as the Loncin/Ducar engine?

Also im looking at power figures and they all seem to be quite similar. Whats is a respectable Kw rating on a 125?

Regards,
Shane

They are all similar because they are built quite similar and are all 125cc, the only difference really is build quality as they are all copies of each other in one way or another.

Not sure exactly on kW but they are all very close.

Its odd because some of the watercooled 50cc have 8kw and then you have 125cc water or oil cooled which are 6-8kw. Very interesting/odd.

But anyway, thanks for the reply.

Regards,
Shane

i have noticed by repairs or maintanence the Lifan engine seems to be the better internal quality compared to loncin / ducar and jailang engines. when talking kws power don,t believe what you here from advertises as this is the get you to buy process [ power ] unless you go jap.

Actually Ash (No Fear)we've been through this lol, Thumpstar Have The Lifan Monster not Jialing. Jialing Will be Impossible to get hold of over here dude unless a very Big Bulk Purchase. Jialing = GPX and Lifan are The Best.

they are found in orions/atomiks, not bad for a thrash bike, they dont last as long as the other engines, and their gear box is shit 1d3up

I agree... there are reasons for 1d 3u....nothing worse than going down a monster hill clicking down the gears heading for first but ending up in neutral, losing your engine braking, and having the bike run away...

bikes with neutral at the bottom are a nightmare if you do any serious riding...

chinese engines with 1d3up gear boxes suck
after a while, one of your gears will blow, 9/10 it's 2nd gear.
it's been race proven, that the new 4up gear boxes are 1000000000000000 times better, they last longer and can take way more punishment.
if you think im joking, planetminis.com there are thousands of posts on the GPX engine and their new 4up box.

Does anyone know anything about the Jialing 138cc motor ? Do they have 4 up gear boxes ?
