Yx coil

are coils engine specific eg will my yx 125 coil be any good for my new yx 160 ?i know that it will work but what I'm after is more consistent or maximum spark does it come down to the coil or the cdi or both what's a good coil cdi set that won't cost too much to suit a yx 160 my 160 was a dog to start just trying to eliminate this problem and get i little more performance?

I don't think they are engine specific because I run a genuine crf 50 coil on my yx 150 no problems at all.
