Honda 91 Z50R question

Hello. About 4 hours ago I purchased a 1991 Honda Z50R. The bike is complete and runs fine. There is one thing not working properly and that are the gears. I have never owned a motorcycle but have rebuilt and restored cars for over 20 years so I am optimistic that I will be able to repair...- Eckman
