New and just need direction

Hello. About 4 hours ago I purchased a 1991 Honda Z50R. The bike is complete and runs fine. There is one thing not working properly and that are the gears. I have never owned a motorcycle but have rebuilt and restored cars for over 20 years so I am optimistic that I will be able to repair whatever is wrong. I purchased the bike for $40 USD so I am pretty excited about that. Can someone tell me the shifting pattern for this bike? I was told the bike is all original and has 3 speeds. Are they all up or all down or some up and some down? I will be purchasing a service manual soon but I unable to find anything about the bike online. I apprecieate all replies and if you happen to know a whole lot about this bike, any info would be fantastic. Thank you.

1991 is a 3 UP shift. there is a good You tube video showing how to adjust the centrifugal clutch.

I see this ad for Z50 parts in our local bike sales magazine here is OZ ,might help with parts..Not use where you are in the world ,or if parts are hard to come by.
I've been think about getting one.

My 1988 Z50R is a 3up , my 78 Z50J1 is a shift down its a bit weird..
