when i start my atomik prox 140 sometimes it starts then other times the starter just flops down and then when its going it makes a real bad banging sound and vibrates in the crankcase, also it wont go past 3rd gear what would be my problem? any help would be appreciated

On my atomik prox 140 when i start it up i have to leave the choke on for ages and then when i turn it off and drop the revs it just cuts out and same when i have been riding for 10 mins or so... i stop and hold the clutch in and unless i keep giving it plenty of revs it just stalls any help...
