Got a PP 140 for myself, done all the usual things to make it reliable etc, but looking to get a 50cc for my kid...

Haven't seen too many threads about whats required to make something like a pitsterpro or pitpro 50cc into a reliable bike, always starting, nothing bending or snapping... All the things that seems to happen to chinas..

So what brands would you suggest I look at? The budget is as low as possible basically. 2nd hand would work...?!

Thoughts?

depends on your budget but you would be suprised http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-AUTO...?pt=AU_Motorcycles&hash=item257ced513e&_uhb=1

do you want to get him into racing or riding all together? then maybe a http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-ATOM...es&hash=item2ec7abcdae&_uhb=1#ht_10745wt_1026
if you want new... you can go second hand..

mainly to make it more reliable... do the valve settings and maybe go over most nuts and bolts you can see with some weak loctite and it should be fine to run for a long time (doing the valves every 100 hrs or whatnot) there not required too often on these engines because there not aggressive in there cam grind or anything like that

atomik are like a mid way brand not great but not bad at all and for the price its worth going over stuff
lei i think i would avoid although they seem to use the same frame and setup as atomik

if i were u, i'd get an atomik. there not pieces of junk, all u have 2 really do is general maintanence. i have a 125 and its a pretty good bike, although i just bent the bars....falling off going to fast lol. but the atomiik is probs your best option

seems the smallest they do is 110 - was hoping to keep towards the 50cc side of things.. Want to keep it super quiet so it can be ridden in many more places, (quietly) and tame it right down. Nothing more scary for a kid to grab a fist full of whiskey throttle, they'd never get on it again.

http://www.pitpro.com.au/pitbikes/pitpro-50cc-293/

Those two seem to be the easy options - where else might I look?? Is a true ebay china nasty worth the heartache/cost of replacing all the ****e knock off bits...?

The worst/most extreme example of rubbish I could find real quick was this - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TDR-eCX-...5960221?pt=AU_PocketBikes&hash=item2573c32a9d

It would take a lot of money to get that reliable!

the link i linked you was for the atomiks store (from there anyway) alot of bikes go cheap from there and they are new

i would say on second look http://www.pitpro.com.au/pitbikes/pitpro-50cc-293/ looks like the best pick (most suspension travel)
pitpro are pretty good in quality and if you call domanic from motobike city he would sell it for less i reckon also

most of them have the same engine and will run forever aslong as you keep the oil up and the chain tight... i seriously doubt that you would have any reliability issues other than your own mistreatment on any of these bikes (OTHER THAN THE TDR)

pitpro is top of the heap for new bikes. Discs for the win :) haha.

exploring a z50r project bike build tho...?! :)
