ag 200 yamaha need help with kick start

ok i got a ag 200 yamaha n i just got the side cover welded up cos it had a crack n now i can't figure out how to put it back togther. the kick start has a spring so it will return n i dont no were that springs goes onto. there is 2 rods it could go onto one is the decompression thing n the other is not really anything. when i put it on the decompression one it springs bak but it stops the decompression thing from moving. n when i put it on the other one it wont spring bak. if anyone has any pics of around the kick start on any bike with cover off would be appreciated thankz
