There's nothing around this area unless you either have mates with property or want to drive out to emu creek or rover park

Hey blender, you're in the northern rivers? Did u find any riding spots? I've heard there are organised ride days out near casino somewhere, the kyogle nd club seems like they're pretty organised too..... I was down at the old track near ballina airport the other day, it's all closed down, interested in finding out why, and how we can get it up and running again, maybe even as just a mini compound???

yea, im in Northern rivers, i've got a mate who's got private property out past casino, a proper track setup, but its no good for minis, unfortunately.

do you mean the track opposite the airport in lismore perhaps ? i havnt been there, but a few mates have in the past. they say its pretty rutted out, the owner doesnt do proper maintenance, and charges alot for a day.

havnt heard of a track at Ballina though ?

Why do you have to live in ridiculous massively far away NSW....??? You know there are parts pretty close the the SA border...then you'd have WAY more people to ride with!!

because Northern rivers is where its at.....lol, wish i could say that...

5 years ago it was good, but there are alot of redneck/bogan types around now. because of a handful of people's insolence, the whole town has to suffer...its a shame, night life in lismore is non-existent, compared to what it used to be....

i would like to ride with more people, get to know some members on here, etc, but there are only a handful of NSW members on here, and only 2 that i know of that are in Northern Rivers...

kinda makes it a bit hard sometimes, lol

I don't know of the one out near lismore airport, I've lived around here most of my life, the Ballina one used to be the bomb, I remember going down there watching them ride.... Apparently it's been closed for a few years now, but they have a clubhouse and track and all..... Just needs to be cleaned up as it's overgrown, and prob some fresh soil.....

thats a shame...

i never really go around to ballina though, i dont even like going into lismore anymore, lol...

there just isnt much going on in this area as far as motorbikes are concerned...

I know, it's sad, it used to be huge, but I spose as it's becoming more suburban and less country that's to be expected.

Yeah I hate going to Lismore, and thankfully I don't have much reason to go there anymore. :) will keep u updated with tracks as I find them now blender, tat I know you're in the area... I'm pretty keen for a weekend ride up at QMP though, that place looks awesome!

yea, thanks Rikchick, i'll let u know as i hear of tracks too. would love to go down to VIC, where all the tracks are, but im not prepared to travel that far unfortunately..

I mainly ride trails and it always seems to be out your way.
We go camping at Toonumbah a bit but our regular tracks have just been shut by state forrest :( so not 'legaly' allowed in there anymore.
Ritchmond range state forest is on and Bungabee is decent.
Im in Murwillumbah and ride the forests round home too.

I always take the little bike camping and its pretty fun trail riding and handy to take for a ride into the bush for a sh*t in piece!

Yea, im not prepared to risk my bike by going through illegal riding spots, or my credibility. My bikes are off-road, with no Recreational Registration.

I am trying to find some trail/ enduro type riding around here, and have not found anything. I am mainly into bush, as opposed to track riding. Track riding is fun, but bores me after 5 or so laps..

Whats Richmond range ?

I did the shakedown of the beast at QMP. Massive amount of tracks, I found them a bit rutted and slow going at first but it was my first outing on a mx bike. The son on his FMR was struggling as the Pitties find ruts real easy. Once we got used to it it was mad.
Unfortunately the MX tracks are all big bikes, no pit bikes. The Juniors under 16 can use the junior mx track with Pit bikes but anyone over 16 can only take them on the trails.
Took us 25mins to do half the easy medium length track, the longest one they say is about 1.25 hrs, for me closer to 2.
Will be heading back in about 3-4 weeks to have another shake down and take on some of the longer trails now I'm more confident in me and the bike.

If you look at the maps on the website, they gave us another sheet with estimates for each of the colour coded tracks:
ORANGE (Kids/Novice): 5k's, 10-15mins
BLUE (Easy/Senior) : ~25mins
YELLOW (Short) : ~20mins
GREEN (Medium) : ~25mins
RED (Hard) ; ~70mins (Steep/rutted/rocky in places)

Its well laid out, there's a shop with food/drinks onsite and plenty of facilites. Need a whole day though, they open 0800-16:00.

Sounds awesome IAMTG! I'll most likely be riding my Atomik Fury, which is full size. Im excited at the trails, especially the Red (hard) one!

I'll have to look into it some more :)

I've been looking into doing a trip up to QMP, u can also camp there as well, we are thinking of taking some mates and the kids up for a weekend of riding, the trails look amaze balls! I have mates from brissy that have been to qmp and didn't have any trouble riding pittys on the jr mx track, as long as u don't mess with the kids there, and apparently they also allow time for pittys on the mx 1 track throughout the day also.... I'm most keen for the trails.... But the kids will love the jr tracks
