Becca's thump / klx build

it would seem that the thumps frame has a bend in it,
enough so the rake on the forks is wild.

so we will be moving the 110 engine and my spare atomik parts *for now*
over to the klx frame and converting to 12/14 set up.

then as becca gets more confident we can change forks/shock/engine ect.

parts so far for the build:

-klx frame with subframe extension *props to mick*
-14" black front wheel *props to mick*
-atomik nitrous forks
-atomik nitrous shock
-atomik nitrous swingarm
-pro taper copy bars & pad
-asv copy levers
-new 2 pot front/rear brake set up
-new plastics
-new fuel tank
-new seat
-new rear under brake
-new gear selector
-pillow top grips
-cnc 1/4 turn throttle
-new chain guide
-new coil & lead
-new fuel tap
-new kill switch

parts i am chasing:

-top clamp for triple clams *i broke the original one* :cursing:

-rear 12" wheel *not sure on axel size will update*
-front/rear tyres & tubes
-........more to come as i find it

Def a 15mm rear axle and 15mm supported rear rim, the top triples James is chasing is crf70 style and are wider from leg to leg.

OK thought ils update this a bit.
Bought an atomik 140cc from MICK *thanks again mate* with a view to add to the parts collectio for becca's bike!

the 140cc donk (going to strip and rebuild)






so far so good, ill be sanding and rust converting the frame before i respray it.
then its all new nuts, bolts, plastics, engine, bearings, chain etc

i should have the 3 amalgamated into 1 by the end of next week!! so more piccys to come

Haha sitting next to your bike/bikes at 1am I've been there before many a times. Looks like a good little project can't wait to see what you throw together out if the three.

righto, moving along quicker than i thought, i now have another bike to use for the build, its a YX150 with all good engine/gearbox, forks and rear shocky.

i now have enough to finish becca's build and make 1 or 2 frankenstien bikes lol

big thanks again to MICK ( as usual ) for finding the donor donk bike, and running his guru eye over it before getting the price dropped

havent touched it yet, still filth but when stripped/cleaned parts painted/replaced/added to the klx frame should be a winner

haha, I could imagine the ass tearing you would have got had bec tried to get out the door lol. Well one thing is for sure and that is that your not using the 110 as I want it for my motovert 12-10 lol. But yeah we will get into it bud, even if I just use my good arm we will sort it all out. Very impressive pile of usable parts james so we will pick and match the best and go for it lad.

took the bike apart today ready to paint the frame

i used a 2 layer pearl basecoat with 20% flop control turning from purple to blue with plenty of silver & gold metallic flakes

and a high build ppg 2k clear with added solvent resistance



sanded back the old paint


paint:




1st layer of pearl purple with silver flakes


2nd layer is blue mica pearl with gold flakes and 10% transparent black


all cleared and done
