Here's a plan....see what we can build for around $2000 and evaluate it. Then see how much better we can make it for around the $3500 mark.
Keep in mind one vital point. When you upgrade a bike like this... http://www.performance-pcs.com.au/mroosa/mods.htm (Am I reading that right? Is that price tag approaching $7000?) you have a lot of wasted money sitting around in parts, (the one's you replaced), that you have to try to recoup. If you build from the ground up, you get the hp parts you want the first time around.

That's nearly a complete quality bike from ebay parts...not set in concrete, just a start...pricing to come.

that bike is a full race bike now, will keep up with kitaco 125cc built engines worth $6k for the engine only, come to adel, i will show u.
what parts do i have lieing around that are not in use may i ask?

Read my post again.....
My point is that if you build a bike from scratch instead of upgrading one, you don't end up with a pile of the old parts on the shed floor...if you put hop up parts on it from the start.
What did you do with the parts you replaced? Sell them?...or are they still in your garage? You paid for those parts in your initial purchase price....that's what I mean by wasted money. Unless of course you recoup cash for them which is a hassle...got it now?

read my post again...list the parts i have replaced...here i will do it for u
12" rear - - - - sold my 10" which was on the bike.
rear shock - - - - sold to a mate to put on his china bike.
bars - - - - gave them back to my dealer & he took $$ off my new bars.
exhaust - - - - sold to a mate to put on his china bike.
so u still saying wasted money?
i didnt have to upgrade these parts, could have left it completly stock, but i wanted to make it even better than what it was.

Yep, that's what I said....you have to recoup $$$ for the parts you replaced. If you managed to do that, and you got a good price for them, and you have nothing from your original purchase in your shed...well done, you've wasted no money. If someone doesn't manage that...they have wasted money sitting around in parts.
This can be avoided if you build the bike you want from the start....just one small advantage of building a bike that I thought was worth pointing out....not for your benefit, but for the benefit of members who might consider building a bike.
I really hope you can see after this third clarification that I'm talking in a broader context than your bike. Really I'm hoping to come at the whole pitbike subject from another angle, which is something you might do well to do as it might broaden your view, which I consider a little narrow. Most of us here are learning, whereas you seem to think cause you upgraded a bike and spent some big $$$ that you've got it all sussed...which is a joke.

i know I haven't got it sussed, I'd like a good bike, but I spent too much money on things.
bought a shit bike, and have to replace everything coz it breaks.
what have i broken on my bike...everthing.
i rest my case, i can't help these kiddies.

there is not much to them, they are all big parts which have already been put to gether, it's just like Lego mate, start with the big bits and work your way down.
as long as your have all the bolts/nuts/hex screws etc needed, you just need a few pair of hands to hold everything while u tighten it up.

^^^^^^^^^ all the little things like electrics if you dont know what your doing. how old are you man? and no-fear is right buy a good bike and you wont need to fix it. my thumpstar is going strong all i have done is got a new plug. You get what you pay for. some parts on thumpstars can break but nothing has happened to mine. and yes i do ride it hard and i have stacked it many times before. I even rode through a creak and the motor was underwater and the air filter was just above the water..:S i like my thumpstar and for the 2k i piad for it (05 model) 2nd hand is better than any bse bike (not saying they not good.) so thats my oppinion. and can some one buy those things? i think it would be a hell of a lot of stuffing around. goodluck and peace out

mad man, I have taken my bike to the bush at back of kempsy, ridden for 3 days straight, thru creeks, rocky, rutted roads for hours straight and nothing has gone wrong with it besides a few bolts rattling loose. I paid $800, and bought it off ebay. Im happy with the purchase and am having fun.

Not everyone's daddy and mummy are going to fork out 2g for them.

I think building your own pit bike is a good idea, you will be able to build it up good quality for relatively cheap, and also know its limits from the build up. Sure there will be difficulties and problem solving but thats what lifes all about. Challenge yourself.
