Hi all. I have a Chinese Dax clone I swapped a 140cc engine Into. I ride it on the street only. It has a knockoff keihin pd27 carb on it and for the most part it works fine. I even sorced a real Honda arc pd27 but it's exactly the same. Off idle it has a bad bog that's killed the engine a few times and I am fed up with it. Hate having it happen in traffic.

Everywhere else along the rpm range is fine has a great top end but if I don't blip the throttle before taking off sometimes it dies. What carby should I be looking at to correct this? Is the real mikuni vm26 the way to go with it? If so, what jets should I go with to start out with.
Engine is a lifan iron barrel type.
I need to get it sorted. It's driving me nuts.

have you even tried playing with your airscrew?
if so, try upping your pilot jet 1 size?
i had the same, if i opened throttle to fast my (lifan) died too... after adjusting airscrew it went away.
good luck ;-)

come to think about it, a 27mm carb is kinda big for a 140cc... try a friend's 24mm carb orso, see what gives?
