DS80 Clutch arm

Hi guys !!, i just picked up a 88 DS80 . The past week ive been ordering parts and trying to get ready for Christmas. The problem I have is the clutch arm on case has no resistance or tension . When I made the trade for the 80 it was pouring rain when I got her home I thought the lever had so much slop it wouldn't work . But now realize something isn't right. Any insight on what is going on .
Basically the clutch arm has no tension . I was able to slip shift np. Little bike hauls butt.

I just got a chance to split the clutch side case. The stud sticking out of clutch basket wasn't aligned with shift arm . I have case half way back on and it seems to be working. But I need to get case all the way past gear mesh ? Any tricks

I was able to get the case back on . The trick is to rotate clutch arm to feed case back til it seats .
