GPX forks

Hi to everyone, just got a new set of gpx forks and was wondering if i should change the oil first before i use them?? also noticed when i picked them up it sounded really empty as i could hear the oil swoshing around inside, is this normal and will i damage them if i use them like this?? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks...

Sounds normal because when you put them on the noise should stop if you pump them up and down.
