just a little vent,

have had my bike advertised on gumtree for less than 24hrs and have had 5 scammers contact me already.

" i am prepared to offer you $6600 for your bike right now, email me at [email protected]"
- your a flippin moron coont.

"shes awesome but i would love to know her service history, please confirm the asking price and send me true pics to [email protected]"
- the price is on the ad truckwit, the picks are also on the ad, and timmothy, timbo, timmy, mate, what the hell is with your uber homo email address, I dont want to reply to you because that email address will be stuck in my history, who knows who is watchin me. deleted.

"hello mate i saw your listing on gumtree and can you let me know if still on [email protected]"
- hotmail has oz emails now? plus your response doesnt even make sense. dont ride bikes, go back to school zac my son.

"what is the condition and price for your item on gumtree? kindly get back to me on [email protected]"
-Amanda, I think you diddnt even read the ad, because that info is on there. and your email address? prolly meant to have written @gmail.com, and even if you had, it would give me more reason to send you gay horse porn.

and got another one early that I deleted. along the same lines.

cant wait till my quokka ad goes live..... will post more as the come in, funny as.

"i saw your ad on gumtree an ready to offer u 6,600.00 for the bike, but for quick response pls email me right back at: [email protected] . Olive"
- ok, i thought the first guy offering me 600 more than I advertised was a moron, but another one? they must be generous. I am going to email him back and play with him for a bit.

Hello
Thanks for your reply . I was just thinking that you must have had some buyer's interested in buying the Bike from you and i think the best way to outbid all of them is by offering you an additional sum to your asking price, Just to let you know that am buying it for my Brother. But to start with i won't be available to come for the inspection my self due to my new Job transfer . I have a pick-up agent that will be contacting you on where and when the pick-up will take place after have completed the payment, but if you don't mind can you please tell me a little bit more about the present mechanical condition and how often do you service it and the history ? i will greatly appreciate your response then i can proceed with the payment transaction immediately
Regards

Oliver"

yeh sounds genuine hey? nice guy, buying it for his brother

I replied:

you seem like a nice girl Olive, buying the bike for your brother. you must love him so much. wish I had a sister like you.

service history:
I service it every 45 mins of engine time. this keeps the cylinder nice and glazed over. all the service is done by a local marine engine technician, the best mechanic i have found. I have done a bit of servicing to the bike myself. the internal propellor modulator was vibrating a bit, but that happens with bikes this age, I got a lightened one made out of fibreglass. hasnt missed a beat since. To reduce unsprung centrifigual weight I removed one tooth from every sprocket in the gearbox, it made it lighter and made so much more horsepower. removing only one tooth is fine, because the manufacturers put extras in there just for safety. The powerband started to wear out a bit, so I replaced it with two new ones, and it like doubled the powerband. after the chain and sprockets wear out a bit I flip them over and run them backwards just to get extra life out of them, but I have just put brand new ones on. they should last about 2 years. The muffler bearings diddnt need replacing but I did it anyway, just to keep the bike fresh. I have even thrown in a brand new rear tire, these are worth nearly $350 alone, so its good value.

look forward to hearing from you Olive.

That's exactly the same as what I got pretty much for me ski. DELETE.

and just got this reply. I wont be going any further to make this poor sole feel bad

Hi again
Thanks for the sufficient details in regards to the Bike. well am very much interested in it and you don't have to look around for any other buyer. Its for my Brother at home that need a Bike to move around but i have to make sure the Bike is in a good condition before i send it to Him . I hope you understand my eagerness to complete this purchase a.s.a.p. There is no way i will be coming there to inspect the Bike as i said earlier Besides the bike will be picked up and transported to Tasmania where my Family resides,So whatever you tell me about the good and the bad aspect of the Bike is what i will believe and inform the Pick-up agent that will come over and pick the bike Immediately i make the payment the pick-up agent will contact you on where and when the pick up will take place and he will also be of assistance concerning the change of ownership. This transaction is based on huge amount of trust. The only thing I'll like to ask now is that if there is any problem which you're yet to mention, please let me know now then we can proceed, but meanwhile can you please please REMOVE the add from gumtree now till we complete the transaction because i want to be the only one who is purchasing it from you Can you please send me your PayPal email now and i will proceed with the Payment asap
Regards

I love scammers; I always try to get them to send a photo of themselves doing something silly... One day I hope to get one in here ;)

lmao thats funny stuff

worst thing you can do is respond to these fishing scams , now they know its a real email address and listing they fished for

by all means play with these ppl , but you have been warned

This will be the next email you get.....

I was just about to make the payment when i had this little problem with the picking up,I got an email from my agent..i taught i included that in my previous email.he said he won't come and pick up the item unless i pay him the agent commission fee first in order to be able to schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters is in the United Kingdom and all commission payments made for pick up, from anywhere in the world is sent to their head quarters in the Uk and the only form of payments they accept is western union money transfer and i tried to pay online but i will need a credit card which i didn't bring along, and there is no post office(there is usually a western union section in most post offices) or any western union agent offshore! so i have to ask you to help me with the pick up fees, i will include the $1,000 they charged to pick it up and take it my home(1st class treatment), to the payments i will send through paypal after i have made the payments, i will need you to help me send the $1,000 to my pick up agent through western union money transfer, the western union money transfer can be made at a post office near to you, there is always a western union agent in most post offices or online at http://www.miniriders.com/general-chat/www.westernunion..com .i am waiting to hear back form you so i can send the payment.

Its from an old thread of mine a while ago... http://www.miniriders.com/general-chat/28344-paypal-wesern-union-scam.html

Some of the emails that follow are extremely believable, they are good at what they do, it their job.

just their horrible grammar and english should set off alarm bells but shouldnt it?

also, how many people buy motorcycles with pay pal? you got a bank, transfer me the money, easy.

i cant believe people fall for these scams. I know they prey on the vulnerable. " hey mate you give me 1000 and i will pay you 7000 instead of 6000".

if i dont see cash, you dont get bike.

haha, nice serve westy, I've had the same crap from gumtree. Sure is hard to believe some people get scammed by these knobs!

Gotta love Scamtree, when looking at buying a Mazda for the wife, found one at a great price on there. As i slowly started reading the bit an pieces about it I noticed that "it has never been dropped" I figure this was a good thing considering it's a ****ing car.... Some people are so spechal....

Thanks

:action-smiley-035:

I would just like to say thanks for posting something in regards to scammers. As it is i have had two emails that both seemed to good to be true...
One was the [email protected] had this reply within 24hrs as well.
" She is awesome but tell me abt her service history, pls confirm her asking price and send me more pics of her true state to hayesgmen at gmail.com"

I wrote back asking for mobile number and stuff and still got nothin, came up with a speel of being a biologist working out at sea doing research on plants and animals under the sea. Also offered me $600 more than asking price too and would do everything via courier. Sorry but that got alarm bells ringing. Again asked for mob then made up a story on how its disconnected and contract expired. ???? What tha??

Also had another one under the email of [email protected] under the name of katherine henderson wants a bike asap to use in Malaysia hmmmmmm and would do anything to get it over there incl no rego! ? ummm ding ding ding ding!!!

First time had to deal with this, just glad someone had posted something other wise well yeah.......
Thanks!
