Hello Helicoil!

Hey guys,

Just finished getting the FYM back together, pulled plug to check for spark. Screwed the plug back in...and in and in. Thread is all but gone inside the head, it has been getting worse and worse over time but now is totaly knackered.

My question is, can i get a helicoil installed with the head still on the engine? I freakin hope so! Any help appreciated.

hey, it depends how much room you've got to turn the t-handle on the over-size tap.
the other issue is that aluminium shards that get into your barrel will really screw it.
you could risk it and use a tube on the end of a vacuum cleaner to try and clean it out.

What if i grease the tap up real good to catch the shavings?

^^you could do that but i wouldn't.......just remove the head its your safest option and best option and its not very hard.....you don't want any shavings to be floating around in ya motor do you
