help needed with mageneto

i need to remove the magneto cover (stator) the bolt is stuck and ive tried to get it off but the magneto cover keeps spining

You need a special flywheel pulley. I tried too, i even tried holding the magneto still while turning the bolt but didn't work. I did though just spot some flywheel pulleys on ebay yesterday, ill post the link up in a minute.

do u mean the flywheel?
or the case?
lol if its the bolt on the flywheel get a car oil filter tool and put it on to hold still while u undo the bolt

1. your talking about the magneto itself no the cover
2. there called flywheel pullers not pully's

now if your lucky your should be able to use get the magneto of using a long screw driver but be very carful not to injure you engine case

reminds me of this idea i had come up with to wrap a tie down around the flywheel and too the roof of the shed to try and get the flywheel off

i got the bolt off and i just need to get the thing around teh magneto off what ever its called
